Ireland's Eye (right off the coast of Howth)
Hello All! Sorry for not updating this sooner, but I have been SO busy...
On Monday afternoon, me and three other friends hopped on the DART train and rode to a little fishing city, north of Dublin, called-Howth. It was absolutely beautiful, we saw St. Mary's church, the Howth Castle, and really took in the beautiful scenery. (Check out the pics on top!)
On Tuesday I started my internship! Its at Mary Crotty PR firm. I have been doing SO much... I have written plans, press releases. We are currently working on a pitch for Moroccanoil-a new hairstyling product, we're actually going to salons this week!
Every night during the week, I have met up with friends and we have either gone to the pub, museums, etc. This week, I have seen/been to:
-Howth
-Blackrock- A town South of Dublin right on the water where two of my friends intern at. We got drinks at the "Wicked Wolf"
-Gravediggers- a GREAT pub close to us, many famous people have gone there- including the Clintons, Daniel Radcliffe, etc. It was a very "homey" little pub
-Irish Museum of Modern Art- beautiful exhibit by Terry Winters
-National Gallery of Ireland
-Trinity University- the MOST beautiful campus I have ever seen. We took a guided tour from a student-he was hilarious. We learned a lot about the history of Trinity and at the end got to see the Book of Kells
-Jameson Distillery- great.
-The Brazen Head Inn: Irelands first pub- I ate Irish food and HATED it
-Kilmanhaim Gaol: An old jail where they housed political prisoners, I learned a lot about the Irish history
-Dublin Castle
and LOTS of walking around!
Those are just some of the highlights of my trip so far! Next weekend we are planning on taking a tour of W. Ireland and the following weekend a tour of N. Ireland. We hear that both are BEAUTIFUL.
