Made It!

Trinity University
River Liffey at night
Grafton Street

Hello all,

I have been here for two days now, I will give you a run down on what I have been doing...

Day One: The flight was pretty easy, I got in, got my luggage, and met up with my group. We headed back to the residence. My room is pretty nice- I have a twin bed, desk, and my own bathroom (which is a very big plus!). There are around 15 girls on my trip and they are all very very nice. When I arrived, my friend and I decided to go exploring so we hopped on the bus (theres a bus stop across the street from us, and through the program they give us passes for all of Dublin's public transportation- which is very convenient). We walked around for around 4 hours and really got a feel for Dublin. We saw O'Connell Street, Trinity University (beautiful!), and Temple Bar (a very "hoppin" place with around 10 bars on the street). That night, even though everyone was exhausted we went out as a group to temple bar for some drinks- then went home and passed out.

Day Two: I got to sleep in, then I got up and a friend and I went into the city again. I am living around 10 minutes outside of the city and it is right across from a very famous cemetary (its kind of creepy- but I think I have gotten used to it, it's very old and gothic looking) So we hopped on the bus and did a lot of walking- it was a very nice day so we thought we should take advantage of that and we decided to hit up most of the parks. We went to a beautiful park called: St. Stephens Green- there was a lot of people out and I ran into a girl from Ohio State (so random!!). After that we got completely lost and had our map out and a couple comes up to ask to see if they can help us. (sidenote: Everyone is SO friendly here- I really cant get over it) They ended up giving us two extra tickets they had to "Taste of Dublin" (the tickets were 30 euro a piece!!!). We went to that and it was very cool...We ate thai food and drank champagne (what a combination). Afer that, we walked to another park: merrion square and by the end of that park we were very "draggy" We picked up food at Marks and Spencers and headed home. Later that night all of us again went out to Temple Bar- it was a very fun night!! The great thing about Temple Bar is even though its a very touristey area- you meet people from all over the world. We became friends with two Germans that came to Dublin on "holiday". One of them would not stop talking in the Borat voice, which automatically reminded me of my dad.

Tomorrow I start my internship, I am very anxious for that! The only thing is that I have no idea how to get there. Wish me luck!!
